In November 2009, Guy was elected as a Painting Member of The Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society and elected as a Fellow in February 2013. Hi work is included in The Florilegium Society's latest publication, ‘Botanical Illustration from Chelsea Physic Garden’. Editor of the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Newsletter. He was elected as a full member, and is now Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists. He received Highly Commended Award at the Society’s Open Show 2010 and the President’s Award for the 'Whole Body of Work in Media other than Watercolour’. He was awarded Certificates of Botanical Merit in SBA Open Show’s 2011, 2015, 2022, 2023. Exhibiting Excellence in Graphite 2019, 2021, 2023. 2023 1st prize John Waterman Award, Best in Show, judged by Helen Allen and Charlotte Brooks for his Yew Tree. He is currently a tutor on the SBA Distant Learning Diploma Course and contributor in their new book “Botanical Painting with the Society of Botanical Artists” in the chapters on Drawing Techniques. He gives talks given on graphite techniques, demonstrations and workshops for The Society of Botanical Artists, The Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society, Hampton Court Palace Florilegium Society, Colchester & Ipswich Museums, The Sheffield, Birmingham and Leicester Botanical Florilegium Art Societies.
