Julia is passionate about botanical art - painting, exhibiting and teaching. She particularly enjoys celebrating less-than-perfect specimens - Fading flowers, autumnal leaves and seedheads, often depicting them larger-than-life. She has many awards for her work and has exhibited in the UK, Europe and USA, with work in the Shirley Sherwood Collection, the Hunt Institute of Botanical Documentation, Pittsburgh and the RHS Lindley Library. She also has three paintings in the Transylvania Florilegium. She teaches in her home city of Bath and leads workshops worldwide, both in-person and online. Since the Pandemic, Julia has hosted regular webinars where leading artists share their botanical art passions and projects.
