Based in North-west England, Sarah came to botanical painting from a career in environmental and horticultural education.  Through her art, Sarah seeks to highlight and celebrate the value, diversity and beauty of plant life from the tiniest bryophytes to the tallest trees.  She trained with the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA), graduating from their diploma course with distinction in 2023.  She is a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists. At the SBA’s Plantae 2024 exhibition, Sarah was awarded a Certificate of Botanical Merit for her watercolour botanical illustration. She was delighted to be chosen as a recipient of the CPGFS Award for Excellence in Botanical Illustration - sponsored and judged by the CPGFS in their 30th anniversary year - at Plantae 2025 and was subsequently invited to become a painting member of this Society. Working commercially as a botanical illustrator and tutor, Sarah also supports the work of the Association of Botanical Artists as a Committee Member and chairs the Florilegium Society at Sheffield Botanical Gardens.
